Established in 1990, the Bioptron Medical Centre
specialises in treating patients with polarised light. The polarised
beam emitted by Bioptron medicinal lamps is ordinary visible light
except that the light-waves vibrate along one single plane in
space.
This minor alteration to ordinary light has far-reaching
medicinal consequences: polarised light stimulates the immune
system and boosts metabolic processes, to name but a few of its
biological and therapeutic effects. While it is used for much
the same purposes as low-power lasers, polarised light is more
simple to produce and therefore more readily accessible to patients.
